I decided to do a story that I know really well. That story is of a kid who wants to watch tv and wants candy but her room is a mess. The story follows her wanting these things and having to clean her room to get them. It ends with her getting both of these things because her room is clean.
LIKE YOUR STORY BOARD ALOT! USUALLY THATS HOW YOU GET KIDS TO DO WHAT SHOULD'VE BEEN DONE(CANDY).. CLEAR CONCEPT
ReplyDeleteYour story has all of the neccesary elements. Protagonist, antagonist, conlict and resolution. I especially like the set with all of its physcadelic colors and the lead actresses interaction with it. Looking forward to seeing more of this up and coming star.
ReplyDeleteAs a mom, I appreciate that you got your homework done and your daughter to clean her room. The story is clear but you need more variety in the visuals. All the shots of her room are from the same angle and shot size. Think wide shot to see the mess, med CUs to see areas of clutter, low angle shots with clutter in the foreground and your daughter in the background, CU of your daughter happily eating candy.
ReplyDeleteThe "acting" in shots 3 & 4 is pretty priceless. I like the subject you chose for this, but I think there are definitely opportunities for more compelling angles.
ReplyDeleteI did not understand the exact story until I read your explanation. I got it was something about a child and candy and a mess and watching tv and then a clean room, but not the bribe or what was really going on. I also think the one angle take on things makes a viewer experience it somewhat like watching something from outside and far away rather than having an experience with it. How I achieved SOME of this through practice was doing a lot of macro work...this is not called for in this series, but it does something in your work that gets you to be more absorbed in your subjects than standing outside and being more "flat". Hope that makes sense. Your subject is sweet and I relate as a mom of a girl.
